I have more artists on the site now! everything still seems to be going very well, I have placed 1 more ad in gumtree.com to scout new talent and I am now actively researching advertising costs etc.
I cannot believe how extortinate it is to advertise in the metro! I was shocked to see the most expensive ad being OVER £37k, Thats is more than enough for a huge deposit on a house, or a brand new car!!! tut tut, no wonder they give their news papers away for free, they must be minted! lol
Alright not much more to say now, just check the website and the new talent I have on there.

Woopwoop
As you can see from the title of this post things are still going great!
I have my second artist added to the site so now starting to think about advertising, maybe newspapers or locally in town, also business cards, not too keen on leafleting, I think that is more hastle than it is worth!
If you have got any good idea's for me please send me an email to buddhamonkey@artlover.com that would be greatly appreciated.
With regards to my little monkey, he is all smiles and conversations these days although he isnt speaking he lovesssss to make lots of noises trying to speak. AND we shaved his head!!!! hahaha he looks like a little thug. I'll tell you a bit of the back ground, he was born with lots and lots of hair and started pullign it out the sides so he ended up having lots of long hair on to and patches of bald on his sides so something had to be done.
Me and hub went down to argos, picked up some clippers and shaved his head! LOL then I did the hub's hair as well, it was such a good money saving decission.
So back to work, once monkey goes back to sleep we got to clean the WHOLE house again,too much dust is killin me... then more work on putting together a poster for advertising and find more artists woopwoop

Great update!
I am feeling very positive about things right now.
Since adding my first artist more artists are actually responding to my emails and are seeming interested in appearing on the site.
I just got off the phone with a nice gentleman who is going to email me some pictures of his artwork for me to set up a page for him later on.
Ah everything just seems to be working out at the moment.
My beautiful amazing mammy also just got a new job that she applied for so she finally has something good to smile about, a good pay rise and new colleagues.
I was going to add a picture of myself yesterday after I had made myself up, but after taking a picture of myself I realized why I'm not a photographer and decided against uploading, I was also going to add a picture of the heels but now I am just too lazy! haha. maybe another day.
I'll just put a different piece of artwork up for now as only added the one, then I', going to go and work on another piece of art cos I want my portfolio of art to get way bigger!
I like this one!

Monday
Alright,
I just read through my last post and realized a say 'lovely' too much so that's going to stop now.
I have decided to be a yummy mama from now on as well so heels are out and dusted off and same goes for the make up! :)
Hubby's gonna get a shock when he comes home to a made up wifey with heels on! But he's still not getting any until the brother in law moves out so that should be a good incentive for him LOL.
On the website front not much going on, no more artists apart from the one previously mentioned, and no footfall on the site either.
I'm going to do some more scouting today send out a few more emails to see what/who I can find.

Finally a good update!
Oh wow it's been a while since I have been able to update on the actual website.
Well I have some excellent news... I have finally found another artists to appear on the website, she is extremely talented and I have finally published her page of art today! I am very excited about this, hopefully now with her on board as well I will begin to have other artists interested and once I have a few more I will be able to begin advertising for buyers and build up a bigger audience/footfall to my site. at the moment I am getting between 1 and 3 visits a day, which is more that I expected so far but we definitely want it to be a lot more.
Oh I got home from my madre's house on Sunday so had a lovely holiday of nearly 3 weeks from the usual chores of my own house, but it is lovely to be back home again.
So going to continue cracking the whip with work to find more lovely artists and then maybe not go back to work next year, you never know!
Also, I recently discovered online shopping... It's amazing, lovely to receive a package in the post a few days later, it's like receiving a present :)
Alright, no jokes for today cos I'm going to go and have some decaf tea and Berny made marble cake. maybe later though if I have time.

Long time no read
It's been a while now since I have updated this place.
Like I said before I am now at the mothers house, and it is actually like a holiday. I don't have to clean the house like I do at home... cos the step father does it, although I do clean up after myself (mostly) don't have anyone else to clean up after. and I don't really have much work to do now either because the website is all published and sent out a million emails to find artists, I am just waiting at the moment for them to get back to me.
So all I have been doing is making the little monkey laugh, cos he does do little laughs now, and eat lots of food. I made a mint flavor cake and a marble cake today, and I go for walks and chill out when the monkey is sleeping.
I also read an article today which was hella funny, apparently, moose and elk in Sweden get drunk on fermenting apples... and get stuck in apple trees!

Completely off topic
Nothing to update on the site so just going to post off topic,
maybe a few more 1 liners and life in general.
things going on in the world at the moment =
*coming up to the anniversary of 9/11
*something happening with gdafi, I don't understand it all properly tbh but something def going on
I guess thats the main news, nothing nice in the world to report... unless you go deeper into peoples lives like, I heard Amanda Holden is pregnant again, after what happened to her last time, wish her the best of luck and hope everything goes well and smoothly!
andddddd in my life, good things that are happening, going to be spending a week staying at my wonderful mum's house with my little boy whilst the hubby is out galavanting with some of his old friends that he hasnt seen for several years, bless him he is very excited and I am as well looking forwards to having a week away from the hub and with the mama, will be nice.
I wonder what is going good in other peoples lives, when you hear about good things can give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside with happiness for other people, share your stories if you got any nice ones.....
and finally it definitelt time for a good joke, I know woman jokes shouldnt make me laugh, being a woman and all.... but they do, I cant help myself, they are just fuuuunny!

Update
Afternoon people.
I have been working this afternoon on my page in my website with all my art on it, redone buttons for each and every piece of art on the page and finally happy with the result.
I have also got half way through another new painting, but not going to sell this new one, new one is just for me and hubby at home.
I also dressed my little boy in the hubby's shirt and tie, was hilarious! he's such a cutie.
Alright, back onto topic, I have also got a photographer that is going to sell photo's through the site so she's going to email me some pictures and as soon I have them I will add a page for her on the site.

Wednesday
I just thought today, I haven't tested my payment system to make sure it works so today I have to buy one of my paintings from myself and make sure I receive the money and that it all works properly!
Also, I got to take my little man for his second set of injections in 10 mins which I am not looking forwards to because apparently the second lot hits them hard and makes them feel really bad for a few days afterwords, well I have my baby calpol and good old milk to get him feeling better, hopefully a mixture of them will sort him out.
Apart from that I am still on the prowl for other artists which is going slowly but is moving a little bit. well you know I will write here as soon as anyone else is updated on the site.
So now whilst I still haven't got anything more to update I will just put some more jokes
-Why does a squirrle swim on its back?
To keep its nuts dry
-A man is driving happily along when he is pulled over by the police. The copper approaches him and politely asks, "Have you been drinking, sir?"
"Why?" snorts the man. "Is there a fat bird in my car?"

Brand new day
Good morning,
I hope everyone had a fantastic bank holiday weekend.
I have had a bit of progress with new artists over the weekend so hopefully soon you should be able to see the website updated with a few more artists which will be very nice, and then I can crack on with some advertising and bring in the punters. But for today me and the little man are going to be spending a day inside with the heating on, all snuggled up. I reckon I have earned a break after all the work and effort I put into setting up the gallery.
So anyone that is reading this I do hope you recognize when you have been working hard, done a great job and definitely deserve a break and a treat...
Okay let me put another joke to put a smile on your faces;
How many men does it take to open a beer?
- None. It should be opened by the time she brings it.
What does it mean when a man is in your bed gasping for breath and calling your name?
- You didn't hold the pillow down long enough.

Published site
Now that the site is officially published, I seriously have to work on finding new artists but I am stumped! I have contacted old college friends, even old school friends, posted on the Monkey Buddha facebook page and kept this lovely blog updated but still no luck, you can have a look on the site...
on 'The Artists' page, I am sitting there on my lonesome. This is madness, there has to be some other artists out there in a similar situation to me. Well looks like I have to work a bit harder to find them.

Deadline
Good Morning :D
Believe it or not I exceeded my deadline!! I managed to publish the website (www.buddhamonkey.co.uk) on Friday eve... it is done!!! now work begins on finding artists and traffic for the site.
If you have a look and see something you would change please get in contact with me because I am open to suggestions of improvement.
But for today for me it is break time, going to go and visit the fam, have a chill out sat and hopefully enjoy some nice weather if we get any.

Good Morning Friday
Wahay its Friday, the nations favorite day!

I am going to be trying to force my other half to check through the website for me, a proof read before it gets published! and again more cleaning, I honestly don't know where all this mess comes from! its madness. and lots of eating because I love food.

I have actually sorted the gallery page now so most of my pics are up with the correct button for sales, I do still need to add a bit of wording to it but I was too excited so thought I would take a breath, add another update here and show you guys a pic of my most recent work.

6th update
Hey,
It's Thursday now, only 2 more days before we reach the deadline. AAA I think I was almost definitely too ambitious, but I did make progress yesterday, I worked out how to create the buttons I need on paypal to be able to sell art and I also know exactly how the page on the website that people will look at and buy art will look like, just got to put that together today. I'll start when I have a minute to myself with 2 hands!
I'll let you all know once I've set up that page with the buttons and then will put up a pic of my new piece that I am working on now and very proud of!

Just another post
Alright,
I'm supposed to be doing some research now so that I can perfect the appearance of the website but I am doing everything I can to put it off, am I the only one that hates research? I start and then I just get distracted...
What, now I can't even concentrate on this?! I recon I am having a baby brain moment lol. well that will be my excuse anyway.

A blonde has just gotten a new sports car. She cuts out in front of a semi, and almost causes it to drive over a cliff. The driver furiously motions for her to pull over, and she does. The driver gets out and draws a circle and tells her to stand in it. Then he gets out his knife and cuts up her leather seats. He turns around and sees she's smiling. So he goes to his truck, takes out a baseball bat, and starts busting her windows and beating her car. He looks back to see that she's laughing. He's really mad now, so he takes his knife and slices her tires. He turns around and she's laughing so hard, she's about to fall down. He demands, "What's so funny?" She says, "Every time you weren't looking, I stepped out of the circle!"

5th update
Good morning world!
I am feeling much much better today, had some lovely chicken soup last night and then before bed had a cheakey bit of rum which sent me off to a lovely sleep. My boy is also seeming to feel a bit better but still bunged up... I think now that I am better he should start getting better hopefully.
So back to business, I had a number of things to do yesterday and this is how I got on;
* We did go to town and speak to the framing shop and also a printing shop and we are slightly restricted by sizes as each shop has different maximums and standards but that's not really a problem, just got to work out the sizes I should use within these maximums. I got a few quotes but nothing set in stone so still room for heckling.
* I did have lunch which was toast and a latte at home. The boy had milk... he wanted some of the rum but I said 'no, just milk for you for today'.
* I did do some cleaning in the house, didn't make it perfect however it was good enough, I'll do the proper spring cleaning when me and babs are better then we can get rid of all our lovely germs.
* and finally, I didn't actually do any research but I did start a new painting it is a painting of a flower that looks like lavender but it is abstract so an interpretation.
It looks like the weather is going down hill but think on the positive side, we need it to rain for nature, for water and probs loads of other reasons as well so I am glad it is raining.

4th update
Woopwoop, I got through last night, managed a couple of hours kip and ready and rearing to get on with today.
I decided to start off today having a hot bath with the little one to try and clear both of our noses and he decided today to have a poop in the bath for the first time, it was absolutely hilarious, however yucky it is, it just funny that he picks his moments.
Now he is having a nice little sleep so I got a little break for breakfast and to plan the day...
* When he wakes up we are going to go down to a framing shop in town and flex my negotiation skills, see if we can hackle a cheaper deal in getting several paintings frames.
* A spot of lunch
* work out some pricing for all the paintings when we get home.
* A hella big clean out in the house
* Then chill! or maybe a bit of research on the internet.

Not an update, just a post
I haven't actually managed to get any work done this weekend... I have been struck down with major flu symptoms, I know it happens to all of us, but when it happens to you, you just want to tuck up with some chicken soup and be taken care of. I didn't manage the chicken soup but we got a whole chicken defrosting tonight and gonna make a huge pot of chicken soup tomorrow :D can't wait!
I am going to have to get some work done this week if I am going to stick to my deadline but I don't think I am going to be very productive tomorrow seeing as doesn't look like I am going to get much sleep tonight and only had 3 hours broken sleep last night... ah well, we will see what I can do, gonna soldier on like a good little trooper, bash out some insane paintings or become a whizkid on the website and just do it.

3rd update
Good Morning Sunshines,
After an eventful day yesterday the little one went to sleep and I did manage to check my bank account, and the deposits were there!! So I have verified the paypal account now but I think the online gallery does need some more tweeking before it gets published :(.
It is actually extremely complicated! you'd think it was much easier with the amount of websites out there and that so many ordinary people just set them up all the time, but being totally honest there is so much work that needs to be done in setting up a website, about a million and one things you got to do, hopefully mine will work, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Actually I think I should set myself a deadline for when it needs to be published... I want to be ambitious and say 1 week today which would make it sat 27th but my brain is saying 'nope, not gonna happen'.
OK decission made... my deadline is 27th Aug, now (apart from finish the website) the only thing I gotta do now is think of a consequence if I don't do it on time!!
I'll post here when I think of something...

After an eventful day yesterday the little one went to sleep and I did manage to check my bank account, and the deposits were there!! So I have verified the paypal account now but I think the online gallery does need some more tweeking before it gets published :(.
It is actually extremely complicated! you'd think it was much easier with the amount of websites out there and that so many ordinary people just set them up all the time, but being totally honest there is so much work that needs to be done in setting up a website, about a million and one things you got to do, hopefully mine will work, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

2nd update
Today has been an absolute disaster, my poor little one has got his first sniffles, he cant eat, he cant sleep and he is just generally feeling very poorly.
we walked to town to buy some medicine which didn't work, we then went to the docs who gave us a prescription so had to go back to town again, got the prescription and got back home but that isn't working either!!! he has decided he wants to go to sleep on me right now so I am sitting here typing with 1 hand.
I have not yet checked my bank account for the paypal stuff, I actually havent done anything productive, not cleaned the house, not cooked, not done any business stuff, not even been for a poop which is not a good situation cos I had bran flakes for breakfast! lol, hard times.
we'll see what tonight brings, if i do manage to check anything I will post again, but if no post tonight it is safe to say my hands have been tied.

1st update
Hey people,
The website still hasn't been published... this paypal thing is taking absolutely ages!
Just at the stage were they have deposited money into my bank account and I need to give it back before they can verify the account, it seems like it is taking forever for the transfer to clear in my account, cos I can see that they have done the transfer because my available balance is different to my current balance, but the transfers aren't showing in the account yet.
Anyway, I think once I can give that money back hopefully I will be able to publish the site. Only problem with that is I still haven't found any artists to add onto the gallery apart from myself. I reckon I will still publish it though and then hopefully find other artists as I go but if you are an artist who happens to stumble across this blog you should definitely email me or message me or leave a comment here.

Lets start again
So from my first post everyone knows I am currently seeking artists for my website, but after reading through my first blog I thought I should maybe start this differently.
What I am going to do is keep all you lovely readers updated on the status of my website...
At the moment, it has not been published.
I have figured out what my logo is going to be and I have just about worked out the wording for my home page and the about me page.
I am still undecided on the way I should set up the actual gallery and sales process but got a couple of ideas in mind.
I have uploaded a few of my own paintings and set up a page to introduce all artists that will be featured on my website.
I'm also waiting for the paypal stuff to all be set up before I can publish anyway.
So now once paypal is set up I should be publishing the site and I will add the link on here.

Now onto the reason for this blog...
I am an artists, I was forced to work an office job due to lack of quantity of art and literally knowledge of how to get myself out there to sell my art.
I am now on maternity leave and have decided to put my fate into my own hands, I am currently developing an online art gallery to be able to sell art and I would love to feature other up and coming artists like myself on my website to help people like me to get out of the rut of conformed life and start your own career in what you are really passionate about.
